  3. Wi-Fi Bands, Channels, and Placement. Wi-Fi speed is a trade between range and bandwidth, and you control it with band choice, channel width, and where the router physically sits.
  4. DNS: Turning Names Into Numbers. DNS is the lookup service that translates human names into IP addresses, and it quietly decides how fast and how safely your browsing starts.
  5. Locking It Down. Home network security comes down to a handful of settings: strong Wi-Fi encryption, a real admin password, current firmware, and separating devices you do not trust.
  6. Coverage: Wires, Mesh, and Extenders. Wired connections beat wireless every time, so solve coverage by pushing wire as close to the dead zone as possible, then radiating from there.
  7. Troubleshooting and Useful Extras. Diagnose in layers from the device outward, and use port forwarding, static leases, and QoS deliberately rather than as blind fixes.
